I began Family Legacy Writing in 2002 with a goal to make a positive contribution to society by preserving individuals’ life stories for existing and future generations.
My idea for legacy writing came about in 1993, when my mother became terminally ill. I asked her to record her life story to be made into a book—which she did. This project had a dramatic effect on both our lives. Through this event I knew I had found, not only a new direction for my life, but my mission.
I believe my mother’s book is the most valuable gift I ever received. It is my passion in life to help others write their life stories. Writing one’s story is an incredible experience with many rewards, healings, closures, and joys. And I believe personal histories are an integral part of an individual’s and family’s wellbeing.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I now reside in the Pacific Northwest.
